It’s a slave to human need that never receives a thank you.
But the life of a chair is very fascinating.
It sees the happy times, sad times, strange times, emotional
times.
It’s there to support
us when we need it, and even when we don’t.
But we never appreciate it’s presence, until it’s no longer
around.
A chair is a simple object with a simple task. A task to
support.
But its appearance can look complicated, thus we don’t
bother to fully understand it.
A chair can be wooden, metal, straw, cushion, rocking, or
even armless.
It can have more than one task. All to serve our needs
But the more complex and skilful a chair appears, the more
it is downgraded.
A chair is only deemed complex when it is failed to be fully
understood, and its skills fully exercised.
Thus just like everything else, it is undermined to do its
primary task.
To blend into its crowd and do what every chair does.
But every chair does something different in relation to its
owner
Its story is different.
If chairs could talk, they would tell our story. Our real
story.
The ones we hide from
the world, but cry to our chairs about.
They not only support us physically, but do much more.
If only chairs could talk. We would see ourselves better in
the eyes of the things that really matter.
But no one wants to hear chairs talk.
No one wants to hear
them speak the truth hidden in their seats
People are comfortable sitting on the truth, and living the
lie.
Because chairs have one purpose. Not to talk or spill
secrets, but to stay mute and support.
That is the comfort humans live in.
Today I was a chair.
Sat silently and quietly for hours, as
those in church went about their daily routine.
Unable to speak or move, because
it wasn’t my place. But just stayed motionless and silent.
There are chairs of different kinds in our lives.
"People are comfortable sitting on the truth and living the lie."
ReplyDeleteThis revelation is undeniable. Question is, how do we remove the veil of illusion when society sells lies each and every day? Certainly, like the chair no one wants to hear the truth when they've long been accustomed by lies. Ever wondered why meditation requires stillness and silence? Because that's when genuine thoughts begin to seep illuminating the dark paths of our memory. If only we could understand this philosophy from the chair, life would be but beautiful yet again.
That's a beautiful piece you have there!
thanks very much. glad u like it.
DeleteA lie told a 1000 times eventually becomes the truth.
